Patient Pick up and Drop Off

There is an under cover 5 minute patient pick up and drop off point at the main entrance to the ONJ Centre. This drop off point is up a short side driveway off the main Austin entrance road, as pictured. Please note: This entrance and the Austin Hospital main driveway will be closed from 8pm Friday 31 January until noon Sunday 2 February. Our new radiation therapy machine is being delivered over the weekend and we need to erect a large crane to lift the components into the ONJ Centre. There will be no vehicle or pedestrian access to the main entrances of the ONJ Centre, Austin Hospital or Mercy Hospital for Women during this time. Access to the Centre is via the Austin Hospital car park entrance, as described below. A temporary taxi zone will be available on Studley Road, opposite Heidelberg Train Station. The 15-minute parking bays to the left of the main hospital car park entrance can be used for patient drop off/pick up. The entrance to our Emergency Department off Burgundy Street remains open. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Enquiries: Call Austin Health Switch on (03) 9496 5000.

Inside the building

We are in a large building and there is more than one way to reach the ONJ Centre main reception. Main reception is on Level 3 of the green ONJ Centre building. Radiation Oncology reception is on Level 2, which is the ground floor of the ONJ building, just inside from the main ONJ Centre pick up and drop off point.

What to do when you arrive

Every level of the ONJ Centre building has big green number signs making it easy to know what floor you are on. Main reception on Level 3 is where you check in for your clinic appointment and also for Day Oncology. The Wellness Centre, Info Lounge and cafe can all be accessed from Level 3.

Radiation Oncology is located on Level 2 and has a dedicated reception desk. Level 2 is the ground floor of the ONJ Centre and at the main ONJ Centre pick up and drop off point. If you are attending an appointment you will be invited to scan your appointment letter or swipe your Medicare of DVA card on arrival at the Centre. This is the fastest way to let reception staff know you have arrived and are ready for your appointment.

If you have any trouble finding where you need to go, ask any of our friendly staff or volunteers.
