Oncology Massage

Oncology massage is a gentle form of massage designed to relieve tension often experienced by patients. It may also reduce symptoms such as nausea, pain fatigue and anxiety.

What are the details?

Our specialised Oncology Massage Therapists are trained to provide massage to people with cancer and can adapt the massage to suit your individual needs. As well as being relaxing, massage can be particularly beneficial if you are experiencing pain, nausea, anxiety, fatigue, sleep difficulties, stiffness or limited range of movement. 

Oncology massage can be accessed by:

  • patients receiving treatment in Day Oncology
  • inpatients on the ONJ Centre wards
  • outpatients in our beautiful, purpose built massage rooms.

Massage can be received through clothing, or applied with oil on the skin.

Who is eligible?

Individual massage is available to ONJ Centre patients.

Contact the Wellness Centre Office by calling 9496 3799 or speak with your doctor or nurse for a referral.  
Day Oncology (treatment chairs) Please speak to your doctor/nurse if you would like to access this service.
Oncology wards (6 South and 7 South) and Palliative Care (8 South) Please speak to your doctor/nurse if you would like to access this service.
