Team Maxie

Max Campbell was a passionate and enthusiastic supporter of the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre right from the very early capital appeal days, thirteen years ago.  He was always willing to lend a hand wherever it was needed.

Max is no longer with us, however his wife Lyn wants to continue the work that he started, by fundraising for the ONJ Centre and also volunteering her time to work in the Fundraising Department.

Lyn has created 'Team Maxie' - an army of family and friends who all adored Max and want to support Lyn in her work at the ONJ Centre.  Over ninety members of Team Maxie turned up to the recent Wellness Walk & Research Run in fabulous blue caps, raising $9,000.

"The Wellness & Supportive Care programs care for the body, mind and spirit of patients and their families which I believe are so essential in the difficult cancer journey," says Lyn. "Our family and friends were always aware of Max's involvement in the ONJ Centre and this is one way they feel they can support the Centre and honour his memory at the same time."

"I know how happy, proud and humble Max would be on the day to see a sea of blue hats walking with love and respect for him, and supporting 'his cause' - the ONJ Centre."
