We recognise the marriage equality debate is having negative impacts on the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) community. We extend our support and solidarity to the LGBTIQ community and their families and friends, and acknowledge their right to live in a society free of discrimination and prejudice.
The Institute strives to promote equity in our workplace and the medical research sector. We therefore support marriage equality which will provide our LGBTIQ staff, students and community with the same right afforded to others: the right to marry the person they choose.
