Research Development Manager

    • Newly created role to lead the Research Development Office

    • Generous salary packaging benefits

    • Flexible hours/ Part time or full time

    • Unique position

    About the position

This role will lead the effective planning and delivery of the services provided by the Research Development Office and proactively promote funding and grant opportunities for our researchers. Through your passion and understanding of the medical research sector you will be responsible for developing the strategy which will support our researchers in capitalising on opportunities for competitive research grants.

In addition to identifying funding opportunities, the Research Development Manager and their team will work closely with our researchers in the preparation of high-quality written applications for grants and fellowships, and will provide strategic advice and training and education in grantsmanship.

    About you

Applicants should be tertiary qualified in biological or medical sciences or, preferably with a PhD qualification combined with relevant experience. You will have extensive knowledge in the research industry, philanthropic and Australian competitive granting schemes, and possess exceptional writing and editing skills enabling you to present complex scientific content in a clear and concise manner. Also essential are demonstrated research facilitation skills, and a proven ability to communicate effectively with other scientists, staff, government and industry groups and academic and commercial collaborators both nationally and internationally.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to focus on value contribution, rather than volume processing. If you are looking to apply your diverse skills to enhance research outcomes and sustainability, this may be the role for you. You will be creative, progressive and adaptable, always looking for new ways to facilitate development of the research program, for the benefit of your stakeholders.

As an ONJCRI staff member, you will have access to generous benefits including salary packaging of $18,550 per annum and flexible working arrangements.
