If there is one thing I can ask of all women and men, it is to take the time to self examine your bodies! Early detection saves lives!
My cancer diagnosis was the most challenging day of my life. I recall sitting at my kitchen table unable to take a deep breath, unable to process a clear thought, unable to form a complete sentence…….. I felt paralysed. This couldn't be happening! I have two small children and a family that needs me. Slowly as the hours passed and the reality set in, I began to accept that I was about to be challenged to my core.
That day was the beginning of not only my cancer fight BUT the beginning of me seeing true selfless beauty in the people that were getting ready to hold me up. My husband, my best friend and my mother put their lives, their needs, their emotions, their responsibilities on hold all for ME.
As time passes I notice how passionate I feel about making a difference. This has forever changed me. If there is one thing I can ask of all women and men, it is to take the time to self examine your bodies! Early detection saves lives!
