New visitor restrictions in place

We have updated our approach to managing visitors to the ONJ Centre.

From Tuesday 29 September, ONJ Centre inpatients are permitted to have one nominated visitor attend, once a day for a maximum of two hours.

Patients on 6 South and 7 South can nominate a maximum of two visitors for the duration of their admission, while patients on 8 South can nominate four visitors.

Visitors will be able to access the ONJ Centre during one of three separate visiting periods each day:

  • 8.30am – 10.30am
  • 11am – 1pm
  • 3.30pm – 5.30pm

Restrictions will be modified for patients in the terminal phase of care in consultation with the Nurse in Charge. These patients will be permitted to have two visitors at any time for an unlimited time period.

Exemptions also remain in place for patients who have a disability or behavioural needs.

Please keep a distance of 1.5 metres between yourself and others wherever possible when visiting the ONJ Centre.

Children under 16 are not permitted to visit.

If staff are unable to carry out their duties whilst maintaining a safe distance, staff may ask visitors to leave the room whilst care is being provided.

Day Oncology patients are required to attend appointments alone unless they are a child, have a disability or behavioural needs, or are non-English speaking and require a translator.

We're still screening all visitors and patients when they arrive but you can now answer the COVID-19 screening questions online before you get here.

Simply fill out the questions on the Visitor Registration form and if it's safe for you to enter, a QR code will be generated which you can present to the nurses at entry.

We know that these measures will be hard for some people, but they are important part of reducing the risk of COVID-19 spreading.

Please treat our staff with kindness and respect.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep the ONJ Centre safe.
