Adam Parlsow Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Dr Adam Parslow

Postdoctoral Research Fellow | Microscopy Manager, ACRF Centre for Imaging the Tumour Environment

More about Dr Adam Parslow

The ability to translate our discoveries made at the laboratory bench to treatment for patients in our centre drives my passion to make an impact in our community.

I am an experienced molecular biologist, geneticist and advanced microscopy specialist. My research at the ONJCRI is based in the Tumour Targeting Laboratory, headed by Prof. Andrew Scott. We focus on the characterisation of cell surface receptors as targets for antibody-based cancer therapy. Through strong collaborations with medical chemists and clinical researchers, we are refining potential targets in order to improve treatments for aggressive cancer types, including glioblastoma, breast, and colorectal cancer.

I became the Foundation Manager of the newly established ACRF Centre for Imaging the Tumour Environment at the ONJCRI in late 2018. I am leading the ONJCRI research staff at this facility in utilising advanced microscopy technologies to visualise the interaction of cancer cells within their normal tissue environments. Discoveries made using these techniques will accelerate improvements in biomarker and treatment selection, which will ultimately lead to improved patient survival.
