Diana Cao Senior Research Officer

Diana Cao

Senior Research Officer

More about Diana Cao

I greatly enjoy the translational research nature of my work as it provides me with great opportunities to apply my medicinal and scientific knowledge to helping cancer patients.

My research is focused around a number of therapeutic areas in the field of antibody therapies for cancer. I am particularly interested in characterising in vitro and in vivo preclinical models of tumour targeting, anti-erbB family antibodies; developing Antibody-drug-conjugates (ADC) to target various types of cancer, especially those of the brain; and exploring the mechanisms behind resistance to such therapies.

My professional expertise includes working with in vivo preclinical tumour models to establish and develop orthotopic and transplantation (allograft and xenograft) for drug therapy investigations and molecular imaging, in vitro techniques to assess cancer cell proliferation and invasion, and immunohistochemistry analyses of tumour microenvironments.

Education

Grad. Dip Immunology, Monash University, Australia

Bachelor of Medicine, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China

Current Appointments

Senior Research Officer, Tumour Targeting Program, Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute

Honorary Affiliate, School of Cancer Medicine, La Trobe University
