More about Dr Jonathan Tomaszewski

Jonathan trained in radiation oncology at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, where he also completed a sub-specialty fellowship in head and neck cancer. In 2014, he joined the team at the Ballarat Austin Radiation Oncology Centre (BAROC) as a Generalist Radiation Oncologist.

Jonathan is passionate about radiation oncology and lifelong learning. He has published research on a range of topics including molecular oncology, head and neck cancer, skin cancer and anal cancer. He was a recipient of the Varian Prize and the Oncura Bourne and Langlands Prize for his research. Jonathan is a lecturer in Radiation and Cancer Biology for the Victorian/Tasmanian Radiation Oncology Training Network. He has contributed to national cancer care guidelines including the Cancer Council Optimal Care Pathways and EviQ Radiation Oncology Protocols. He led the clinical implementation of deep inspiration breath hold (DIBH) radiotherapy for patients with left-sided breast cancer at BAROC, the first regional centre in Victoria to offer this technique.

Jonathan's focus is on providing world-class, evidence-based care for regional cancer patients close to home.
