Dr Jennifer Mooi

Medical Oncologist / Research Fellow, Oncogenic Transcription Laboratory

More about Dr Jennifer Mooi

I enjoy my work as a cancer clinician because I am able to make a real-life difference everyday by caring for those suffering from cancer. As a clinician researcher, I have the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes to enhance the difference that I can make by undertaking research into new ways to care for my patients.

I qualified as a Medical Oncologist in 2013, after completing 4 years of training through the Victorian Medical Oncology network. My areas of interest are gastrointestinal cancers and skin cancers, including melanoma. I commenced my PhD higher degree shortly after completing clinical training, electing to do so at the ONJCRI because of the close relationship between clinical and laboratory research provided by the ONJ Centre.

My current PhD research focuses on understanding the various molecular subtypes of colorectal cancer, clinical behaviour of these subtypes and their responses to treatments. I am able to study these aspects using clinical data and samples from patients previously treated on a clinical trial.
