Nancy Guo Research Assistant

Nancy Guo

Research Assistant

More about Nancy Guo

My major work is pre-clinical and clinical research in tumour targeting group including animal experiments to characterise tumour targeting antibodies and imaging to show tumour uptake of the antibodies. I am also involved in cancer research studies.

I worked in the Melbourne University Cytoprotection Pharmacology Laboratory for 11 years before I joined Tumour Targeting Lab in 2011. I brought relevant experience from my previous job and take a leading role in managing complex pre-clinical projects. The areas of my major research focus have been in the definition and characterisation of antigen and receptor targets for cancer therapy; antibody-based therapy and immune regulation of tumours, and molecular imaging of cancer.

Using mice is an important component in our pre-clinical studies. I have acquired highly significant and relevant skills in areas of quantitative tail vein injections into the tiny veins of mice and PET/MR and SPECT/CT/MR image processing. This includes quantitation for calculating SUVs from images in order to determine uptake of radioconjugates by tumours and normal organs. I have mastered the technique of pharmacokinetic parameter determinations and calculations using the WinNonLin software and prepare results for reports and publications by peer-reviewed journals. Data from pre-clinical studies are then utilised to justify the conduct of clinical trials. This makes our Institute unique and attains a high profile in the cancer research community.
