When should I contact the Oncology SURC?
If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
- Temperatures of 38°C or above
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhoea or constipation
- Uncontrolled or persistent pain
- Mouth ulcers
- Acid reflux or indigestion
- Tiredness/fatigue
- Skin rash
- New or worsening cough
- Shortness of breath
- Difficulty urinating
- Any other concerns or symptoms you are experiencing
How can the Oncology SURC help me?
When you call, the SURC Nurse will ask you questions about what symptoms you are experiencing as well as some general questions.
The SURC Nurse will then offer one or more of the following:
- Advice over the phone about how to manage or improve your symptoms
- Advice to come into the SURC for review with a nurse or doctor
- Advice to see your GP or attend the Emergency Department (ED)
If you are advised to see your GP or report to the ED, the SURC Nurse will notify them prior to your arrival.
