Mindfulness

The Mindfulness program at the ONJ Centre is designed to help you learn and practice new ‘habits of mind’, help you manage the challenges in your life, and at the same time to help you live more fully and with ease in the present moment.

What are the details?

Mindfulness programs are available to patients, family members and carers.

What are the benefits of practicing mindfulness?

Mindfulness programs have a strong evidence base for improving people’s wellbeing even when faced with difficult challenges.

In our friendly and supportive group sessions, you can learn meditation exercises to help you to:

  • Focus and steady the mind

  • Improve your ability to relax

  • Reduce anxiety and depression

  • Pause and be aware of the present

  • Improve your sense of wellbeing and enjoyment of life in a non-judgmental way

  • Respond rather than react to life’s challenges

  • Have a greater capacity to tolerate short and long term stress

  • Learn resilient and compassionate ways to take care of yourself
